Epseelon IT is my freelance consulting business, through which I can help you solve all sorts of problems with software. So if you are currently facing issues, or if you have identified any opportunity around one or more of the following aspects, I am your guy. I can do development, architecture, coaching and training.

Productivity

Originally, I’m a Java developer and architect. So I can coach and develop in Java environments, especially those using technologies like Spring and Hibernate. But I can do more than that: productivity is a current issue in Java environments, when you have to plug and assemble all those frameworks together, with the corresponding build infrastructure and so on. Fortunately there is an innovative technology that I have been using a lot lately and that solves all the Java productivity issues: it’s called Groovy and Grails, it’s blazing fast to develop for and it runs in any Java application server.

Ergonomics

I have done both lightweight web clients and desktop applications in the past, but there’s always been this dilemma between maintainability and ergonomics. Web applications are easy to deploy and maintain because everything is running in the browser, but web user interfaces are not always very user-friendly. On the other hand, desktop applications can be very easy to use, but you need to deploy them and update them on several machines, which can be a real pain. That’s where Adobe Flex and AIR come into play, to bridge the gap and take the best of both worlds. I can help you integrate those great technologies into your next solution.

Mobility

I’ve always been passionate about mobile development, and I’ve built a few Java Micro Edition applications in the past. But now I’ve specialized on the iPhone SDK platform and I have developed 3 iPhone native applications, a private one and two that can be downloaded on the App Store: MooPlan and ConferenceGuide. So I can help you develop iPhone native applications that integrate with your server applications (especially if those are Java-based), whether you intend to sell them on the Apple App Store, or put it at the disposal of your employees.

Agility

If you are fed up with your IT projects delivered too late to be useful, or not delivered at all. If your teams are demotivated and don’t react well to changing business requirements, you might give a thought to Agile and more specifically to Scrum. I’ve participated in several Scrum projects myself, as an architect, as a Scrum Master and as a Product Owner. So I can certainly help you get a grasp on how Agile might help you. Or maybe you are already convinced. In any case, I can either participate in your agile projects as a developer, or I can coach your teams to start using Scrum. It’s up to you.
