I really hate how pop culture is on fire right now with non-tech idiots spewing HTML5 as the answer to Flash since "flash is so dead". Even though HTML5 doesn't even exist. Even though -- agreed -- HTML / CSS / JS are not ways of developing, just ways of patching crap together, barely, and nothing in them ever works well everywhere. The people doing this are the same ones who desperately called me a few years ago because their client "needs a flash site". "Why does he need a flash site?" I would ask. They had no answer to that; they didn't even know what Flash was. They just new it was "in". Now it's "out". They don't even realize that 50% of what they do online involves AS2/3 in some way, especially any serious apps they might run, because when it's done well, it looks seamless. It's sure a lot more seamless than Java.

I remember doing an AJAX solution for a client at one point and they thought it was done in Flash. Now I'm going to have to do Flash solutions and tell them it's AJAX. Stupid fucking marketing people. Everyone with a business degree who styles themselves a "new media director" should be hunted like fucking buffalo and skinned alive.

Okay. Enough of that. I loved your post. Keep setting these morons straight.

From what I read on a former 10 years Apple employer, the decision not to include Flash is a political one. Apple didn't forgot how Adobe ignored them on the past.

So, yes, lack of flash is a NO GO for me, I'll wait for an Android one where Flash is working OK.

I totally agree with:
- fuck html, js, css
- please support flash
- price & multitasking

I would love some webcam to enable true Augmented Reality. 'cause IMHO the iphone is to small for AR.
I'm not as a great afficionado as sou since I'm still wondering if it would be better to wait for the iPad2 ;)
This is nonetheless a great communication/presentation tool!
